The Sax Institute has continued to provide robust, evidence-based approaches throughout 2021–22 that have assisted governments and health service providers to respond to numerous health policy challenges.

This Annual Report 2021–22 provides many examples of how the Institute has delivered on its mission to ‘improve health and wellbeing by driving the use of research in policies, programs and services’. In a number of cases, the Institute’s contribution has benefited from a significant degree of innovation, increasing its value to policy makers and researchers alike.

A significant source of the Institute’s strength lies in our membership structure, which connects us to many of Australia’s leading research institutions and topic experts. It is pleasing that the Institute recorded a strong increase in membership through the year, with growing interest in the Sax Forum being one highlight.
