Highlights of 2024-25:
The Sax Institute continued to connect high-quality evidence with policy and practice throughout 2024–25, strengthening its role as a trusted national partner in tackling complex health challenges.
This year’s Annual Report showcases a number of significant milestones and initiatives, including the first full year of operation of our Aboriginal Health Division, deepening Aboriginal-led partnerships and advancing national work in Indigenous data sovereignty; the 10-year anniversary of Public Health Research & Practice, marked by a new publishing partnership and a strengthened global profile; and the continued growth of the 45 and Up Study providing powerful insights into ageing, cognition and care. We also secured funding for the groundbreaking 18 and Up Study, a new national intergenerational study launching in 2026, and advanced innovative systems modelling and evaluation work to support prevention, cardiovascular health and frontline responses to family, domestic and sexual violence.
Across all programs, the Institute remains focused on innovation, collaboration and impact – ensuring research is translated into practical action that improves health and wellbeing for communities across Australia.
