What does the future of secure research infrastructure look like?
Join us online on Wednesday 21 October for a special event showcasing SURE 3.0, the next evolution of the Secure Unified Research Environment (SURE), and introducing the new Data Connect Australia (DCA) SURE Voucher Program.
Over the past year, the Sax Institute has delivered a significant program of enhancements to SURE with support from Data Connect Australia and the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). Shaped by consultation with researchers, data custodians, ethics experts and research infrastructure partners, these improvements are designed to support increasingly large and complex research projects and the evolving needs of the research community.
The event will also introduce the new DCA SURE Voucher Program, which will provide eligible researchers with subsidised access to SURE services to support their research.
During the event, you’ll hear about:
- A new SURE architecture designed to support larger and more complex research projects
- Enhanced analytics, AI and machine learning capabilities
- Expanded storage capacity and improved scalability
- New training and governance resources for researchers
- The AI Curation Assistant proof-of-concept
- Updates to the SURE fee schedule
- The DCA SURE Voucher Program and how researchers can apply.
The session will include demonstrations of selected enhancements, an overview of upcoming migration activities, and an opportunity to ask questions.

Previously, she led the Developmental Pathways and Social Policy Team at Telethon Kids Institute, which focused on linking administrative datasets from non-health agencies to health data to explore the life course epidemiology of many non-communicable disease outcomes. Rebecca also led the development of the Australian Child and Youth Wellbeing Atlas, a freely available resource which maps data on children and young people across Australia.
