This Evidence Check review aimed to provide an evidence-based resource for planning the composition and strategic development of the NSW genetic counselling workforce into the future. The review examined peer review and grey literature and outlines: genetic counsellors’ current roles and scope of practice in NSW, nationally and internationally; the impact of new technologies on the workforce and services; training and certification pathways; and challenges facing the NSW genetic counselling workforce now and in the future.
