• The Sax Institute was engaged by the NSW Ministry of Health to conduct this qualitative study. This report presents the study findings for Aboriginal women receiving hospital maternity care. It includes implications for improving cultural safety and overall patient experience across the care pathway for Aboriginal patients during pregnancy and birth in NSW public hospitals. Findings about Aboriginal patients’ experiences of hospital care (excluding maternity care) have been reported separately here.
