The Sax Institute welcomes two new Members

The Sax Institute has welcomed two new Members to its network: research group Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations & Impact at the University of Adelaide, and 360Edge, an alcohol and other drug consultancy.

There are now 78 Member organisations of the Institute from New South Wales, Victoria, ACT, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

“We look forward to working with these organisations, who both have impressive expertise in public health and health services research,” Sax Institute CEO Dr Martin McNamara said. “Our network of Members is committed to addressing Australia’s public health challenges together.”

Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations & Impact (HESRI) is a research group dedicated to strengthening evidence-informed decision-making in health policy and practice. Based within the School of Public Health at the University of Adelaide, HESRI brings together a multidisciplinary team of internationally recognised methodologists, researchers, and implementation experts. HESRI’s work spans the entire evidence-to-impact pipeline: from systematic reviews, scoping reviews and guideline development, to knowledge translation, evidence implementation, and capacity building through education and training. The group collaborates nationally and internationally with government agencies, health services, and organisations such as WHO and the GRADE Working Group. Professor Zachary Munn, an international leader in evidence synthesis and guideline development, is HESRI’s Director and its member representative.

360Edge is an alcohol and other drug consultancy that offers advisory services to government and frontline services and workplaces, with a specialised team of health experts and researchers working to translate science into policy and practice. Its mission is to ensure governments and services have the tools they need to respond effectively and efficiently to reduce alcohol and other drug harms. 360Edge’s work includes service development, practitioner workshops, program evaluation, systems change and workplace and schools programs. Dr Katinka van de Ven is a Principal Consultant at 360Edge and its member representative.
