The aims were:
To evaluate the short-term and long-term (up to 5 years) direct economic burden of primary and secondary osteoporotic fractures in women aged 50 years and older.
Objectives:
Estimate the short-term and long-term direct healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and associated direct costs in women aged 50 years and older who experienced an incident osteoporotic fracture, and in a matched cohort of women free from osteoporotic fracture
Estimate the short-term and long-term HCRU and associated direct costs in women aged 50 years and older pre-OF versus post incident-OF
Estimate the HCRU and associated direct costs in women who experienced a secondary OF
