WELCOME to this edition of our newsletter, in which we learn about the program of work that Professor Penny Hawe is leading for the Prevention Centre. Professor Hawe and her team are exploring the dynamics of complex interventions in public health and are publishing widely in the area.
We also meet Joanne Greenfield, from ACT Health, who we think could cope with anything after an earlier role of running child and maternal health services in Afghanistan.
Our director, Andrew Wilson, explores what systems thinking means for leadership, and we look at the ideas and resources that came out of Professor Mike Kelly’s visit to Australia last month.
Professor Kelly, from the Institute of Public Health at the University of Cambridge in the UK, addressed a public forum on nudge theory and public health and generously shared his knowledge at meetings in Sydney and Canberra over a week.
