This Evidence Check review assessed the evidence for identifying and managing people presenting to health services with suicidal behaviour or ideation. It found optimal management includes the provision of a range of clinical services and development of particular policies. Moving from screening checklists towards a more comprehensive clinical assessment would provide a more clinically useful basis for decision-making as well as a more tailored treatment pathway.
