Obesity costs get the nation’s attention

45 and Up Study findings showing that one in every six days spent in Australian hospitals is related to overweight and obesity among the over-45s, costing the nation nearly $4 billion a year, were presented at the 45 and Up 2014 annual meeting and caught the attention of the nation’s media, with more than 300 reports on the study.
