The Sax Institute acts as a bridge between research and policy to enable wiser decisions for a healthier Australia. We bring researchers and policy makers to the same table and draw institutions together to address the big questions facing NSW and the nation.

There are a number of ways we help researchers interested in working with health policy makers and contributing to policy and program development.


The Sax Institute offers opportunities for researchers to work with health policy makers in a number of ways including by commissioning rapid reviews and bringing researchers and policy makers together to collaborate, innovate and exchange ideas through different forums.

We also run HARC — the Health Alliance for Research Collaboration — in partnership with the Clinical Excellence Commission,  the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation, the Bureau of Health Information and the Cancer Institute NSW. The HARC Network links more than 5000 researchers, health managers, clinicians and policy makers so they can innovate and share ideas.
