This Evidence Check review examined potential roles for radiology assistants in Australia. There was some evidence of cost savings and of improvements in the accuracy and timeliness of medical imaging diagnosis and of improved patient outcomes. The review found that successful implementation requires removing barriers to professional boundaries and collaboration between professional groups.
