This Evidence Check found that primary care is well positioned to support individuals diagnosed with cancer. Evidence-based guidelines are required to help identify patients presenting with ‘red flag’ symptoms. Research on innovations to implement guidelines, such as decision support tools, should be supported. Little is known about some client groups such as young people and those from CALD backgrounds.  The provision of shared care plans may be helpful for some cancers. The findings need to be interpreted with caution.
